Purple Horizons Wild Beasts raise £400 for local charities
We are delighted that our latest PAINT IT PURPLE based on the live and work of Henri Matisse was such a success
Guests learnt about Matisse’s use of bright colour and how he was described as a Wild Beast
The name Wild Beast was coined during the 1905 Salon d'Automne, where critics were shocked by the intense, vibrant colours used by Matisse, André Derain, and others.
Fauvism is characterized by bold, often dissonant, colours, simplified forms, and expressive, painterly brushstrokes.
Guests learnt about key works such Woman with a Hat (1905) and Open Window, Collioure (1905) and then created their own painting

£400.00 was raised for Papworth Trust and Ormiston Families to support their amazing work

Purple Voices
Purple Horizons have been invited by the wonderful team at Black Cat Radio to take part in a regular slot with Nigel Pauley on his One Voice programme https://www.blackcatradio.org/programmes/your-voice/
Angela Kenyon with Purple Horizons volunteer Sylvia Giles spoke about Purple Horizons plans for 2026. Purple Horizons have worked with Black Cat Radio on a number of events including Boogie Nights and Vinyl Vibes and Tinsel and Tunes. Supporting Prostate Cancer UK
Purple Horizons are excited to be working with Dave Young to create greater awareness of prostate cancer. We have some exciting plans for May as part of our community health events. Further information will be available soon!
PSA Testing Event
Purple Horizons are delighted to supper a prostate cancer PSA testing event on Saturday 7th March at Cedar House Surgery, Huntingdon Street St Neots.
