Angela grew up on a farm in Cambridgeshire, where she learnt early on the importance of helping others and giving something back.

After studying history, she began her career with London Festival Ballet (now English National Ballet), where she developed a passion for fundraising and event management.

Throughout her career, Angela has worked with a wide range of inspiring individuals - from Battle of Britain veterans to children facing serious illness - experiences that shaped her commitment to making a positive difference.

She has continued this work in a voluntary capacity, including co-founding The Crown Appeal to support Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust and Cancer Research.

Angela is also a trustee of Rise Africa UK, supporting education and opportunities for children in rural Tanzania.

She has been involved with Papworth Trust for several years and was instrumental in founding Purple Horizons alongside four other mums - an idea that began around a kitchen table, fuelled by coffee and a shared desire to make a difference.

Outside of Purple Horizons, Angela enjoys time with family and friends, is a devoted Arsenal supporter, and has a soft spot for ABBA - often combining the two with her own version of “Bukayo Saka running down the wing” to Voulez-Vous.

Bronwen began her career in investment banking before moving into bookkeeping and running her own Airbnb business. Above all, she takes great pride in creating a happy home for her family.

A love of charitable work has always been part of her life, having grown up in a family where giving back was deeply valued. Alongside her work with Purple Horizons, she is actively involved in a number of charities through both volunteering and fundraising.

She has organised a wide range of events, including large-scale charity balls, and is currently involved in planning a major fundraising event in support of the new Cambridge Children’s Hospital.

Bronwen is passionate about the work of Purple Horizons and is proud to be part of a team that continues to make a meaningful impact.

Outside of this, she enjoys playing tennis, keeping fit and getting lost in a good book.

Clare has been part of Purple Horizons since its formation in 2019 and played a key role in establishing the committee.

A qualified solicitor, she previously worked at a Cambridgeshire law firm before moving into teaching on the Legal Practice Course at Anglia Ruskin University. She now runs her own property business.

Through Purple Horizons, Clare has enjoyed working with a wide range of inspiring people while supporting important fundraising initiatives, particularly for Papworth Trust and other local charities.

She is also a regular volunteer with Three Pillars Feeding the Homeless and St Neots Foodbank, both causes that are close to her heart.

In her spare time, Clare enjoys time with her family, travelling, playing tennis and keeping fit - although she admits she has now retired from running half marathons.

Rachel has been involved with Purple Horizons since its launch in 2019 and, as a founding member, has played an active role in developing ideas for events and fundraising.

Born in Nigeria, she spent her childhood between North Wales and West Africa before settling in Cambridgeshire over thirty years ago. During this time, she has been involved with a number of local charities, including through Rotaract and Ladies Circle.

Rachel has a strong interest in supporting local families and brings extensive experience in organising a wide variety of events.

She is a mother of two boys and two spaniels, and before family life enjoyed a successful career in fashion - an interest she still keeps today, alongside tennis and travel.

Justine has supported Purple Horizons since 2019 and joined the committee in 2023, building on a strong connection with the organisation and its work.

She has long been involved in community-focused initiatives, including supporting RDA and Three Pillars Feeding the Homeless, and has a particular interest in projects that bring people together.

Having spent many years living in the USA and the Middle East, Justine values the friendships and cultural experiences gained during that time, which continue to shape her perspective today.

Alongside raising her children, she has been actively involved in school life, taking on roles from teaching assistant to Chair of the PTA, and organising large fundraising events.

Now settled in Cambridgeshire, she enjoys family time, travelling, long dog walks and staying active.

Fiona is a recently retired solicitor who specialised in wills, trusts, tax and probate for over 30 years.

She brings valuable experience in charity work, including involvement with organisations focused on community support, and has been a long-time supporter of Purple Horizons before joining the committee.

Her interest in charitable work began in childhood, helping her father with RNLI fundraising activities - an experience that shaped her appreciation of the impact of volunteering.

Originally from Cambridgeshire, Fiona returned to the area after time spent studying and working elsewhere to raise her family. She has two sons and a much-loved cat, Mittens.

In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, Reformer Pilates and is a long-standing member of a book group that has been meeting for over 20 years.
