Meet Us

Bringing people together for good causes

Purple Horizons is a volunteer-run initiative created by six local mums who wanted to do something positive with their time, energy and interests.

What started as a simple idea has grown into a community built around connection, curiosity and giving back.

Meet the Team

What we do

We organise a varied programme of events designed to bring people together while raising money for causes close to our hearts.

These include:

  • Talks on topics such as literature, current affairs, history, health and art

  • Creative workshops and hands-on experiences

  • Charity balls and social events

Each event is designed to be enjoyable, engaging and a chance to connect with others, while supporting something meaningful.

Our Impact

£67,000 + raised for local causes

We work with a range of charities, many of them local, so we can directly support organisations making an impact in our community.

Who We Support

These include:

  • Papworth Trust

  • ACT

  • Ormiston Families

  • Headway

  • MND (Cambridgeshire)

  • St Neots Man’s Cave

  • RDA

  • Citizens Hub in St Neots

  • Black Cat Community Radio

  • The William Templeton Foundation for Young People’s Mental Health.

Our Approach

We are committed to using donations responsibly and transparently.

Around 90% of all funds raised go directly to the charities we support.

The remaining 10% covers essential costs such as insurance, website and domain fees, helping us operate safely, legally and sustainably.

How it Works

Membership is completely free, and everyone is welcome.

Whether you’re interested in an informative talk, a creative session or a sociable evening out, there’s something for everyone.

It’s a simple idea: Come along, try something new, and help support worthwhile causes at the same time.

We’re proud of what this community has achieved so far - and we’re just getting started.
