Getting Stronger, Fitter & Healthier Together Purple Horizons are delighted to support LMP Fitness’ campaign to “Get St Neots Moving”
At Purple Horizons Community CIC, we believe that looking after our health and wellbeing is important at every stage of life. As we get older, staying active and maintaining our strength, mobility and fitness can become increasingly important in helping us to live healthy, independent and fulfilling lives.
That’s why we are delighted to continue our association with St Neots-based personal trainer Lita Pescod and her campaign to “Get St Neots Moving.”
Following on from our successful Ladies’ Health & Wellness Talks, many of you will remember Lita speaking to our members and supporters about the importance of strength and conditioning, particularly for women going through the menopause and beyond. Lita joined us at our ladies health and wellness events in both Brampton and Cambridge, sharing practical advice and highlighting the important relationship between physical fitness, strength and long-term health.
Staying Active as We Get Older
Lita explained that regular physical activity can play an important role in supporting both our physical and mental wellbeing. Maintaining strength and fitness can help with mobility, balance, flexibility, cardiovascular health and independence, while also helping us stay active and engaged in everyday life.
But getting active doesn't mean you need to become an athlete or spend hours in a gym.
Whether you are taking your first steps towards becoming more active, returning to exercise after a break, or simply looking to improve your strength and fitness, finding an activity that works for you can be a positive step towards better health and wellbeing. As part of her campaign Lita is offering Taster Sessions to join her in the gym in St Neots in September - see details at the bottom of the page.
At Purple Horizons, we also recognise that health and wellbeing are about much more than physical fitness.
Getting active can be a wonderful way to meet new people, build confidence, reduce social isolation and become part of a supportive community. These benefits are particularly important as we get older, when opportunities to connect with others can sometimes become more limited.
This is why Lita’s campaign aligns so closely with what Purple Horizons is all about. We are pleased to support her aim of encouraging women and men of all ages to become fitter, stronger and more confident in their own bodies. 💪💜
Through accessible activities, information, community initiatives and opportunities to connect with others, Purple Horizons aims to encourage people to take proactive steps towards their health and wellbeing — while making sure that nobody feels they have to do it alone.
💜 A little reminder...
You don't have to be fit to start - you just have to start where you are.
Small, positive changes can make a difference. Whether it’s taking a walk, trying a new class, working on your strength, or simply finding a way to move a little more each day, every step towards a more active lifestyle is a step towards supporting your health.
