An Evening on Prostate Health: Information, Support and Real Stories
The Prostate Project Men’s Health Event
Monday June 8th 2026
A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the men’s health talk such a success. The atmosphere was open, relaxed, and supportive throughout, with honest conversations that really mattered.
The overriding message from the evening was clear: if you have any worries or concerns about your prostate health, don’t delay—speak to your GP. And don’t be afraid to ask about a PSA test. Early conversations and early investigation can make a real difference.
We were privileged to hear from Dr Thevan Chetty, GP Partner at Lakeside Healthcare St Neots, who provided clear and practical information about prostate symptoms, benign prostate enlargement, PSA testing, and the importance of seeking advice early.
Dave Young, bravely shared his personal journey following a prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment, highlighting how early investigation made a significant difference to his outcome.
We are also grateful to Jerry Williams for sharing his experience of being diagnosed with prostate cancer at the age of 55—both stories were powerful reminders of why awareness and early action matter.
These personal accounts, alongside the medical guidance shared, helped create an evening that was informative, honest, and genuinely impactful to everyone who attended.
The team behind The Citizen Hub in St Neots always offer support for Purple Horizons. We are particularly grateful to Alex Hughes for hosting our event, Debs Gray the Hub’s Wellness Manager and Grace Marsh CEO.
Please keep an eye out for updates and in the meantime please put Saturday 5th September 2026 in your diary when Miss Jyoti Shah MBE BSc (Hons) MD MS DHMSA PG CertMed Ed FRCS (Urol) PHF Macmillan Consultant Urological Surgeon at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and her team are faciliating a PSA testing day in St Neots.
