On Sunday 13th July 2025 Purple Horizons organised a Cricket Festival which was generously held at Kimbolton Cricket Club. Kimbolton Cricket Club is situated in the idyllic village of Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire. Kimbolton enjoys a famous history centred around Kimbolton Castle, which for many years was the home of Katherine of Aragon following her divorce from Henry VIII. 

The Cricket Festival saw teams representing Papworth Trust,Ormiston Families, MNDA Association Cambridgeshire and Kimbolton Cricket Club play against each other. The sun shone and attendees enjoyed a BBQ, refrshments, bar, cake stall, raffle and live music.

We raised a total of £1020 which was split bween the three charities supported.

The money raised for MNDA was used by the branch to assist five families to buy Ipads that allow people with MND to communicate and control lights, heating, TV’s and central heating. The money has also been used to help with wheelchairs and riser recliner chairs.

The money raised form Ormiston Families was used by their Our Stars project, specifically to provide pre and post bereavement sessions for children aged 5-19 years.
