The Red Hen Project is a hyper-local Cambridge charity who work directly with families in the community to help raise happy, healthy, and independent children. Since 1998 we have focused our attention on those who could be experiencing challenges in their lives, empowering families through confident parenting and cooperative relationships with schools and other services, building stronger, more resilient communities.
Some of our work includes:
One-to-one and whole family support to help families overcome challenges, improve relationships, and enhance overall wellbeing
Drop-in groups and courses offering advice, support, and connection
Positive experiences for children and their families, including school holiday activities and trips
Practical help in a crisis and support to prevent future issues, including those related to financial stress
Space and opportunity for parents/carers to take an active role in their community.
Originally founded in 1984 as a brain injury support group, Headway Bedford set up its first service centre and base in 1990.
We provide a supportive and stimulating environment for people who have an acquired brain injury. We recognise that each person is different and no two injuries are the same and for this reason our services reflect this, focusing on the needs of the individual.
